The Story on Tori

It's time for an introduction. Hello, my name is Tori and I'm a sugar addict. Nice to meet you. I'm almost positive I inherited this sweet tooth gene from my mother. Or maybe my father. Embarrassingly enough you can find me sitting in the kitchen on any given day devouring any sugary goodness that comes my way. I don't skip dessert EVER, ask my husband. (Thanks to me, either does he now!) Ironically, I also consider myself to be a pretty huge health nut. I exercise regularly and most my meals are low cal and lean. My ONLY vice seems to be sugar.

I used to work in a cubicle. Writing that out sounds about as lame as it does saying it out loud. When I graduated from college with a pretty legit English degree, I had big dreams of doing something extraordinary. Six years later I spent half of my time stuck in a gray box with no windows staring at a computer screen. Luckily I was able get out of my cube and into a job I don't actually loathe that gives me more time to spend on my baking. I'm also a recent newlywed, which I know has motivated me to bake my face off to impress the studly man I married.

I started this blog for two reasons. I love baking and I like to share it with people.. I mentioned before that I have higher hopes for my life and career and have found that my love for the sweet side of life is really quite a passion for me. Not just to eat sugar, but to create it for others to enjoy. Whenever I bake, something just lights up in me. As cheesy as that sounds, it's true. I get a pure joy in creating a sweet treat and sharing it with others. And considering how challenging my health goals are, keeping these goodies to just my husband and myself isn't the BEST idea. I would eat them ALL if you let me.

By no means do I claim to be an expert in this department, because I certainly know I'm not. I just LOVE to do it. This blog is a journey with hopes that it will become something more. Yes, I want my own bakery. I want my own cupcake empire. Anything where I can put a smile on someone's face with something I've created.  I hope what you find here inspires you to get into your kitchens and create amazing things! I'd love to hear about your baking adventures! Thanks for stopping by!
